Vegetable stock alternatives

Many recipes designed for use with vegetable stock will also work with chicken stock. A substitute for vegetable stock may include soy sauce and water. Chefs may choose to use a homemade vegetable stock instead of vegetable stock cubes and water. Substitutes for Vegetable Broth Bouillon Cubes. Bouillon cubes are concentrated, dehydrated blocks of beef, fish, Chicken or Beef Stock. Chicken and beef stock can also be used instead of vegetable broth. Homemade Stock. If you don't have any vegetable stock, you can make a substitute with A vegetable stock can be gently simmering on your stove for just a few minutes before it takes on the flavors of the vegetables and aromatics. The flavor of the stock is further enhanced as you toss in scraps and peelings from your soup’s prep as you go along. This also helps reinforce the flavors of your soup. If you don't have any vegetable stock, you can make a substitute with common seasonings and spices. Mix together dried parsley flakes and onion powder. Add salt-free lemon pepper, celery seeds and garlic powder. Combine this with sage, thyme, marjoram, oregano, basil, pepper, dill weed and summer savory. Vegetable Broth. For a faster, lighter flavor, you can mix equal parts of clam juice and vegetable broth without reducing the amount of liquid. Chicken Broth. Half a cup of chicken broth or half vegetable broth, mixed with half a cup of water, will work as a great fish stock substitute.

Combine some invigorating and robust herbs like thyme, basil, tarragon, oregano, etc. with boiling water to make a tasty and nutritional alternative. Allow the herbs to steep for 10 minutes, but not more than that, as herbs like oregano turn bitter if let to steep longer.

No preservatives, gluten free. 2 tbsp plain flour; 1 tsp Marmite (optional, but it does add colour and depth); 1 tbsp tomato purée; 2 tbsp red wine vinegar; 1l vegetable stock (or chicken or beef   Water, Vegetable Stock Base (7%) (Partially rehydrated vegetables (potato flakes , onion, leek, celery), salt, yeast extract, carrot concentrate, sugar, sunflower oil,  This vegetable bouillon powder adds incredible flavor to soups, stock and chowders, plus it is quick and easy to make.
