Sep 6, 2019 I'm getting "Indexes have lifecycle errors" whenever I'm setting Lifecycle policies for my indexes in Kibana. Should I configure anything in order to get a proper Index lifecycle management. At Present I'm Using ELK version 7.3. 1 day ago [Podman]Fluentdで収集したログのElasticsearchのIndexをIndex Lifecycle Management(ILM)の管理対象にする. If you leave that in the template, you will experience errors when the second index is created. This is a bit counterintuitive, I'll admit - basically, ILM creates the new index, and then once the index has been fully created, swaps which index is the write index, and having the is_write_index config in the template interferes with this process. In your case you could either create a new policy that didn't have the rollover in it, or you can set the index.lifecycle.indexing_complete setting to skip the rollover for an existing policy. You should then be able to use your policy without creating a new index (it'll skip rollover and move to the next step/phase). You can configure index lifecycle management (ILM) policies to automatically manage indices according to your performance, resiliency, and retention requirements. For example, you could use ILM to: Create a new index each day, week, or month and archive previous ones Intro to Kibana: Video; index.lifecycle.name The name of the policy to use to manage the index. index.lifecycle.rollover_alias The index alias to update when the index rolls over. Specify when using a policy that contains a rollover action. When the index rolls over, the alias is updated to reflect that the index is no longer the write index. Hi, I got the same problem and won't find anything helpful in the documentation. So maybe someone here can help us? Cheers, Thomas Create a life cycle policy. Initialize a -00001 index for auto incrementing. Create a template for your index pattern, like filebeat-*. Apply the policy to existing indices via index.lifecycle.name and index.lifecycle.rollover_alias. In my case I set name to the name of the policy, and rollover_alias to the first part of the incrementing index. But when Elastic released 6.7.0 – their new Index Lifecycle Management was now a builtin feature making our daily administation simpler. No longer do you need an external cron job running curator. All ILM tasks can be done from within Kibana. Migration from curator. So this is all good.
